Free NBA Pick Today
Game 1 of the NBA playoffs proved to be a positive experience for those of you who follow our free NBA dail picks. We picked the under in the Celtics vs. Cavaliers game 1 contest. Over 70% of the betting consensus was on the over in a tantalizing 204.5 point total spread. The Cavaliers came out extremely flat, and the rest was history. We cruised to another easy win with our free sports picks.
Tonight, is the contest that everyone has been waiting for. While LeBron continuing his crusade against the Celtics and failing is interesting, the only series that really matters is the one between the Rockets and the Golden State Warriors.
Everyone is writing off the Celtics. We think it will stay that way for some time. The rest of the nation will be watching Rockets and Warriors to see who the future NBA champion will be.
This is the NBA’s two best teams. Surprisingly the Raptors had a better record in the regular season than the Warriors, but that was largely because they play in the Eastern Conference. We talked in our first podcast about how this one has 7 games written all over it because of the caliber of the teams facing off. We also discussed how Chris Paul and James Harden are looking for a chance at their first title and will be taking this one very seriously.
Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, and Klay Thompson won’t be taking this one lightly either. For much of the season they’ve known this was the main competition they were going to have to worry about. It’s the main reason they coasted instead of pushing for the #1 seed.
Will that be a mistake that leads to a loss tonight? Could not having home court impact the way this series shakes out? What position should you take on the spread? Read more below.
#2 Golden State Warriors @ #1 Houston Rockets
Tip Time: 9:00 EST - Houston, Texas – TNT
The Warriors and Rockets have been destined to face each other and everyone knew it in early January. I took the time to catch Rockets and Warriors in Houston, and the level of basketball was higher than any other game I had been too. Though my significant other is a huge Warriors fan, we were not disappointed in the result we saw. The Rockets ended up pulling away late and beating the Warriors.
I left with the feeling that that was going to be an amazing playoff matchup. So did she. Apparently so everyone else in the building. There was very little trash talk outside. Instead of meaningless pissing contests, there was a greater sense of unfinished business.
You could tell that the two were just getting started. So, here we are.
Golden State recently regained full troops. Stephen Curry returned from a knee injury in Game 2 of the Pelicans series. He is presumably 100% for this one. He averaged right around 25 points when the New Orleans series finished. He faces a much tougher matchup in Chris Paul and a hyped up Toyota Center in Houston.
Paul on the other end is averaging 21.8 points in the first two rounds. That includes his iconic 40 plus outing in the closing game against the Jazz. This is the first conference finals Paul has reached in his 13-year career. That number is incredibly surprising, but Paul has been known to fall short during his illustrious tenure as the NBA’s top point guard.
Paul teamed up with Harden to win the West by 7 games over the Warriors. They took two of three from the Warriors and averaged 117.3 points in three matchups.
From a neutral perspective, this series is up in the air. It’s going 7. Who wins is anyone’s guess.
From a betting trends perspective, the Warriors are 6-1 in their last 7 conference finals games. The Rockets are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games with 3 days of rest or more.
The over is 4-0 in the Warriors last 4 conference finals contests. The under is 10-1 in the Rockets last 11 against the Pacific Division. The under is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings.
Here’s another trend for you. We bet the under on Sunday. Bet the under today.
224.5 is a massive number for a game in which both teams are trying to set the tone. 73 percent of total bets are on the over…again. We’re defensive to that opinion. Under 224.5 is the play on betonline.ag
