High five, we used a one year loophole to fix the NBA and gave the public a terrible finals.
It’s time for what is perhaps our final NBA free pick of the 2018 season! The Cavaliers were no match for the Warriors in Game 3 as the cream rose to the top and Golden State was able to easily cover a manageable 4 point spread. They only won by 8, but it felt like a lot more. We’re on a roll at 8-3 in our last 11 NBA picks and parlays, but this season sure hasn’t gone down as we’ve expected it to statistically.
With a 29-31 overall free pick record, we won’t have a winning season this year and will finish damn near .500. A few backdoor covers really hit us in gut, but we’re looking to finish LeBron’s career in Cleveland strong with a win against the spread.
Baseball has picked up the pace to the tune of 50-34 in the other everyday free pick. Our baseball picks and parlays have been some of the best in the country this season. The trend shows no signs of stopping. Head over to our MLB free picks section after finishing this article. Not paying attention to him is quite literally throwing your money away.
Speaking of throwing away let’s get back on topic. The Philadelphia 76ers Bryan Colangelo recently threw away a perfect career as 76ers president with his tweets from phony accounts to star players. AS if that wasn’t bazar enough, it has opened very tangible speculation of LeBron James to Philadelphia with a placement of David Griffin, former Cavs GM, as president.
With all the stories surrounding the future, you must wonder how LeBron James will ever be able to focus. Sure, he has greatness to chase and the guy has never played a bad game, but his head must be on the offseason here. There’s just too much noise and too much of a deficit.
Let’s hop right into the pick.
Steph Curry shows his best "Jackie Chan" moves with a KO of LeBron's career at home.
Andre Iguodala was an absolute game changer in Game 3 of the NBA Finals. Game 1 looked like a game the Cavaliers could have won. With Iguodala back, that game wouldn’t have even been close and I’m not so sure the line would be what it is here.
We don’t see what the oddsmakers are thinking. Perhaps they expect LeBron to fight to the death in his last game as a Cleveland Cavalier and play the game of his life. Maybe they think the Warriors will fall flat. One thing’s for sure, we think they’re wrong and are willing to wager on it.
The only way the Cavaliers are going to be able to cover this spread is if the referees have a say in whether this goes past Game 4 as a series. LeBron James is practically alone and those are the only teammates he could find to support him well enough.
Normally I’m not one to pump a fix, and I don’t believe the NBA is in the slightest, but it’s important to remember that the NBA, NHL, and MLB are all for profit entities. Have awareness in games like these and know what you’re up against. The NBA doesn’t make any (more) money if this series ends tonight and would have preferred maximum payout at 7 games.
If the Cavs can push this series further and win tonight, it’ll be because they shot an insane number of free throws that were giftwrapped to them. LeBron will have to drop 50 to have a chance, and even then, it might not be enough. The Warriors smell blood. Durant has it working. Curry has it working. There best defensive player is now back in the fold.
Let’s look at the trends. The Cavs are 5-1 ATS in their last 5 Home games (and 0-1 in their last 1). The under is 11-5 in the Cavs last 16. 60% of public money is on the over 216.5 and 52% of consensus cover data has the public backing the Warriors, but just barely.
