Offensive Ranks - Four Factors
Defensive Ranks - Four Factors
The Lakers are in desperate need for wins as they exit the All-Star break three games out of the 8th seed in the West. Unfortunately for them, they’ll be facing a tough Rockets squad that will be healthy as they’ve been all season.
LeBron & Co. have one thing going for them in this game - they’ve been good at avoiding fouls at the defensive end this season. This is relevant in Thursday’s matchup, as the Rockets (and James Harden in particular) thrive on drawing contact.
However, with Clint Capela back in the fold, Houston’s offense should be able to score at will, whether or not the Lakers are fouling. The Harden/Capela pick-and-roll is devastating, especially against a team without any serious rim protection.
Typically LeBron-led teams can score with the best of them, but this Lakers team has been mediocre offensively. They turn the ball over a lot, and creating turnovers happens to be the strength of the Rockets defense.

While the Lakers are in desperate need of a win, we don’t envision them getting one here. The Rockets will overwhelm the Lakers offensively and put this game out of reach.
