Monday’s match is a tasty one as Liverpool travel to London to face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. The game kicks off at 2:00 CST if you’re in the USA and all sports betting will need to come before that time if you’re looking to get your wagers in at any Las Vegas, New Jersey, Rhode Island, or offshore online sportsbook.
We were onto something in Saturday’s article but fell victim to some bad luck. It does happen from time to time, especially with this particular sport. Football is a silly game. It was very much laughing at us in both the Leicester City vs Wolves and Bournemouth vs. West Ham matches.
A moment of madness from Jamie Vardy in his red card coupled with two early posts stopped the over 2.5 goal total from hitting in Wolverhampton/Leicester City. The fixture finished with a scoreline of Leicester 2-0 over Wolves.
Bournemouth ended up beating West Ham. The result was surprising. Bournemouth rallied from a 1-0 deficit to score 2 goals in the span of six minutes late in the second half. After holding form and scoreline, the club are in the finest form of their Premier League history.
Chelsea saved our day with a 3-2 win over Arsenal that was nothing other than thrilling. Alvara Morata seems to finally be over his goalscoring mental block and that could make Chelsea a real threat going forward to win the league.
We’ll be looking more into betting against West Ham a lot going forward. Hammers manager Manuel Pellegini doesn’t seem to have much traction with this team. Until they show us otherwise, they’re not deserving of any sort of fear moving forward, at least not until they prove themselves. Pellegini could get sacked. Who knows, perhaps the Hammers are relegation candidates. It’s hard not to think after a combined scoreline of 1-6 in their first two Premier League contests.
Neither of the teams in today’s articles are relegation candidates, and that makes this match an exciting one. The home team should come out full of confidence and attack minded which could offer the perfect storm for bettors.
By now, everyone has heard of Liverpool’s success and the pressing system that Jurgen Klopp seems to have applied to perfection. The Merseyside is alight with optimism that hasn’t been seen since the early 90’s, and why not? With Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane’, nothing can seem to go wrong for Liverpool. They’ve been virtually un-stoppable, a trend that probably won’t be halted in Monday’s game.
The Red’s haven’t been in action since last week’s contest against West Ham. The feeling must be a bit weird for Jurgen Klopp’s side. It felt like they’d be playing two games per week forever with last year’s Champions League run. While Liverpool must be hoping for another long run in the Champions League and other League Cups, the rest must be refreshing for a team that had been overextended in the last half of the 2017-2018 season.
That extra time to recoup and also train might be part of the reason Red’s are a massive favorite going into Monday’s Selhurst park contest. At -256 with BetOnline as an outright winner, there’s not much value here in thinking that Liverpool will win unless you’re carrying a big bank roll. The over .25 shave hurts the average bettor. Most will not be interested in laying such odds. There may be a better bet though, or perhaps a parlay option.
In all of Liverpool’s last 8 games the combined goal total has been 3 or more and in 12 of 15 that’s been the case. The last contest between Liverpool and Crystal Palace netted three goals as Sadio Mane’ and Mo Salah hit the mark. Luka Milivojevic’ scored for Palace, but that didn’t help earn them any points. Liverpool completed the double of Crystal Palace last season for the first time since 97-98.
Zaha's creativity and pace remain vital for Crystal Palace success on the pitch.
Crystal Palace have scored in all of their last four games and will be full of confidence playing in front of their home stand for the first time during the 2018-19 campaign. Palace are coming off of a 2-0 road win at Craven Cottage where they beat Fulham in their Premier League return.
Wilfred Zaha scored for Palace and will need to do so today for the side to have a shot. When he’s in top form, Palace are a dangerous team to any at the back. His combination of speed and coaching make him a threat in every game he plays. He also compliments Christian Benteke nicely. Benteke will be looking to score against a team that previously outcast him.

Sturridge could play a big roll in the over/under goal total.
Liverpool are more effective than ever this year, and that will be evident in today’s contest. While West Ham have shown themselves to be questionable, their 4-0 loss to Liverpool at Anfield was more a showing of Liverpool’s class than anything else. With Naby Keita and Fabinho now orchestrating a deadly offensive attack, it doesn’t look like many will be able to stop Liverpool. Crystal Palace shouldn’t and won’t be one of them.
Expect a load of goals here from Liverpool, especially late ones. Liverpool should have netted two by half. They could score a third anywhere in the first 70 minutes. The real kicker here is the likely appearance of Xherdan Shaquiri and Daniel Sturridge. Both have been in fine form and could gash a tired Palace defense in the latter part of the half.
Palace should net one at some point in the contest. Liverpool have a way of going full throttle attack that leaves one or two golden opportunities a game for opponents. If Zaha can score, this is an easy over pick with a push coming as a worse case scenario in a high scoring game.
