World Cup Free Picks and Parlays 6/17/18

World Cup Free Picks

Yesterday’s contests gave us another day of fun free picks and parlays for the World Cup.  We hope you’ve enjoyed the first three installments of our World Cup daily picks and are eager to get into Day 4.  Mexico is in action today which is the closest thing American’s will get to being in this tournament.  We look at El Tri tonight in their game against one of the World's superpowers when it comes to football.  Germany is an imposing threat to the Mexicans.

If you haven’t taken advantage of Cloudbet’s offer yet, we highly recommend that you head over to the Cloudbet sportsbook and take advantage of the “Free Bet” that they have.  This bonus comes IN ADDITION to a 100% Crytocurrency match bonus the crypto bookmaker is offering up to 5 BTC.  If you’re doing the math in your head, you’re not mistaken.  That adds up to tens of thousands of dollars in free value and it’s unheard of from an online sportsbook.  Many of these cryptocurrency books seem ridiculous, but you have to remember that they’ve made a lot of money in the Bitcoin upswing.  Take advantage of Cloudbet's good fortune this World Cup by maximizing the return on your already volatile asset.  A net instant 100% return is free money and if you’re not part of this book it doesn’t get much better.

While there are three contests today, we won’t be focusing on Brazil’s contest against Switzerland.  If you’re laying money on this one, we highly hope you stick with the favorites.  Brazil should cruise.  The only contest on the day that we like enough to pick includes our neighbors to the south.  Let’s look at Day 4’s world cup contest of interest featuring the Germans and Mexicans.

Mexico Germany Free Pick

Javier Hernandez won't be enough despite spending significant time in the German domestic league.

Group F might as well stand for Group F*** for members not named Germany.  This thing is soft, but the its going to be really tight between teams 2-4 and that makes it absolutely brutal.  South Korea, Sweden, Germany, and Mexico are all formidable world powers when it comes to Soccer, but they’re on downswings.  When compared to others, the quality in this group is abundantly deeper than that of Group A which features the likes of Russia and Saudi Arabia.  There’s no one that bad in this group which prevents its average world ranking from dragging.

This game realistically is a must win for Mexico and Germany alike.  That’s much more daunting for a Mexico team that, while quality, doesn’t hold a candle to the overall depth and international pedigree of the Germans.  It’s on the downswing and not even Chicharito Javier Hernandez and a bunch of MLS players can change that.

Germany may very well win this World Cup and obviously took home the last one.  You may remember the images of Brazilian fans breaking down when the Germans ripped their hopes to shreds with a 7-0 victory.  It’s one of my favorite memories of all time.  I’ll never forget “Group of Brazilian boys gets f****ed” ending up on PornHub as a user submission and the full game being viewable next to the likes of naked women.  I’ve never seen anything like it.

That was then, and this time the Germans are even better.  There’s balance at the back with Mats Hummels and Jerome Boateng.  Hector flanks them and he’s always consistent box to box.  Mesut Ozil, Marco Reus, Leon Goretzka, Ilkay Gundogan, Toni Kroos, Sami Khedira, and Julian Draxler could start on virtually any roster in the world…and yet here they are all on the same team.  Timo Werner, Thomas Muller, and battle tested Mario Gomez make up an elite striking force.  The only question mark for the Germans – Who will start at Goalkeeper?  Manuel Neuer is rumored to be challenged by Marc-Andre’ ter Stegen of Barcelona.  What a wealth of riches.

There is nothing but class up and down the German roster. They are only paralleled by the likes of France, Brazil, and Argentina and are one of the favorites of the tournament.  We love them here, and you should too.  They should be bigger favorites than this.

Mexico vs. Germany Pick

Germany: -204

Mexico stands no chance against this methodical German attack.  They may score a goal or two which makes the over attractive, but this game is abundantly tilted in favor of the Germans and we’ll lay the juice.  Much like a low risk bond, you have to take a heavy favorite once in a while.  The pick is Germany -204.
